The workshop was conducted by 6 Neurointerventionalists as instructors. The workshop Simulators and Materials were provided by Stryker Vascular and Abott Neurovascular Divisions

The workshop was attended by 25 delegates. The day started with basic introduction to the field of Neurointervention by Prof.Dr.med Shakir Husain Hakim followed by hands on training with Watermelon models on how to do a safe Femoral Puncture. The basics of performing a safe Cerebral DSA was explained by using diagnostic catheters and wires.

The delegates were exposed to simulator models of Mechanical Thrombectomy and Aneurysm Coiling.

The Congress and Workshop concluded with distribution of certificates to the delegates and faculty.

The organizing team is determined to put in their earnest efforts to make "TamilNadu Neurointervention Congress and Workshop" a scientific yearly event for the Neurologists, Neurosurgeons and NeuroRadiologists.

GKMC-SNIF MoU Workshop Report

An official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally executed between Government Kilpauk Medical College (GKMC), Chennai, and the Stroke and Neurointervention Foundation (SNIF), New Delhi, to promote academic collaboration, skill development, and advancement of neurointervention practices.

The first collaborative Neurointervention Workshop was held on 20th June 2024, led by Chief Faculty Prof. Dr. Shakir Husain Hakim, an eminent expert in cerebrovascular anatomy.

The workshop included lectures on cerebrovascular anatomy and a hands-on session on Cerebral Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), delivered by the SNIF team. Participants also observed a live DSA procedure.
